Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 27 April 2024

The Weekend

Weather

Some soft sunshine on Saturday morning and then lots of bright sunshine on Sunday afternoon. In between those times however, there will be lots of rain… persistent on Saturday afternoon, then showery overnight and on Sunday morning (some of those showers rather heavy and perhaps even thundery). Winds will be gentle force 3 ENE’ly on Saturday morning, moderate force 4 in the afternoon, then strong force 6 N’ly during the night time, followed by moderate force 4 W’ly through most of Sunday. Max temps will be 13-14°C both days.

Surf and the Water

The great 2-4 foot waves that turned up late Friday will bless us through Saturday, but they will become very messy by Sunday morning and then fall almost flat on Sunday afternoon. Swimmers will find the best conditions towards the beginning of Saturday and the end of Sunday. The opposite end of the days might be of interest to windsurfers and kite-surfers though. High tides will be mid-morning (8.6m Saturday and 8.2m Sunday). Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Force 3-4 SSE’ly breezes will bring gorgeously sunny conditions on Monday, then hazy sunshine and cloudy spells on Tuesday. There will probably be some rain on Tuesday night, but daylight hours should be nice and dry, leading to some very comfortable spring temperatures… peaking at 16°C each day.

Surf and the Water

Some surfable knee-high west-coast waves are likely, but not certain. Swimming conditions are looking great, especially along the north and west coasts, but often good on the other coasts too. High tides will be in the late morning (7.8m Monday and 7.3m Tuesday). Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

The uncertain end of the week. Likely cloudier and wetter than the first half of the week… probably some fairly persistent rain on Wednesday, occasional showers on Thursday but perhaps dry on Friday. Winds will be near calm on Wednesday (but that will be the greyest day) and then they will be moderate NW’ly on Thursday and Friday. As such, a slight downturn in temperatures is likely. Therefore, depending on the precise timings of sunshine and rainfall, the daily maxima will be somewhere between 13 and 15°C

Surf and the Water

Wednesday is currently promising some super-clean 2-3 foot surf (fingers crossed for that), but Thursday and Friday are likely to fall very small or perhaps even flat again. All coasts will be good for swimming on Wednesday but the south coast will really be the best place to go on Thursday and Friday. Low tides will be in the early mornings. High tides will be in the early afternoons (medium-small… roughly 7m).

Next Weekend

Weather

A mixed bag of sunny spells, cloudy spells and showers… some of them perhaps on the heavy side. Once again, max temperatures will depend on the precise timing of events, but they will most likely be somewhere between 13 and 15°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf looks either very small or flat. Swimming conditions will generally be best in various south and west coast bays. Low tides will be in the late mornings. High tides will be in the late afternoons (medium-large… 7.9m and 8.5m respectively).

The next forecast update will be on Monday evening…
