Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 06 May 2024

Monday

Weather

Some heavy showers in the area… most of them keeping their distance, but the chance that one or two of them will unleash a downpour. At the very least, they will throw some cloud over the Island at times, so it won’t be quite as sunny as Saturday or the latter part of Sunday. Temperatures will probably peak between 14 and 15°C, which is lower than the last couple of days, but the wind will be almost calm in the morning and then just light force 2 NW’ly in the afternoon, so it will always feel nice and comfortable.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be Knee-high and dribbly, but it will at least be clean throughout the morning and early afternoon. Swimming conditions should be good on all coasts through the daytime and then along the south coast in the evening. High water will be shortly before 6am and shortly after 6pm (9m). Low water will be at lunchtime.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

A couple of gorgeous sunny days, with temperatures rising accordingly. This means that it will be really comfortable and gloriously spring-like, but it’s never going to get crazy hot, because the air will be drifting in from higher latitudes… a light force 3 N’ly breeze on Tuesday and then a light force 2 NE’ly on Wednesday. The resultant max temps should be 15°C on Wednesday and then 16-17°C on Friday.

Surf and the Water

If there’s any knee-high surf on Tuesday morning then it will likely be flat after that. Great swimming conditions both days, on all coasts but especially along the south. Tides will be high around breakfast time and dinner time (9.3m Tuesday and 9.4m Wednesday).

Thursday and Friday

Weather

The upward temperature trend will continue, as we repeat the dry and mostly sunny conditions for another two days. This time, however, the breeze will be wafting in from the east… bringing air form slightly warmer origins. The southwestern Parishes will always feel warmest, with top temperatures of 18 and 19°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

Some clean knee-high surf is likely, on Friday and perhaps on Thursday evening too. Swimming conditions will generally be best on the east coast in the mornings, but the south coast will likely be smoothest during the afternoons and evenings. Tides will be high around breakfast time and dusk (9.4m Thursday, 9.2m Friday). Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.

The Weekend

Weather

A super-sunny Saturday should take our temperature up to 20°C for the first time. Sunday might be even warmer or perhaps a bit cooler… that one is all a bit uncertain because the E’ly breeze might be replaced by a SE’ly or maybe a N’ly. No great shakes though… only 1 or 2 degrees upward or downward, and the weather will most likely remain dry.

Surf and the Water

More clean knee-high surf and lovely swimming conditions, especially along the west and south coasts. High tides will be in the mid-mornings. Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday…
