Wednesday and Thursday
Weather
A couple of mostly sunny days, with the only rainfall expected to come in the middle of the late evening and overnight. Furthermore, because this is just a scattering of heavy showers, there is a pretty equal chance of us copping a midnight deluge or potentially slipping between the cracks and stay completely dry. No worries about rain in the daytime though, the only spoiler through those hours will be the rather brisk wind… a moderate force 4 NE’ly, which will make the sunshine feel more chilly than it ought to. The max temperature should be about 18°C on both days, but you will have to find a sheltered spot to feel the fullness of that heat… the south coast beaches and cliff paths should be best of all.
Surf and the Water
Another couple of flat days for the surfers. Good swimming days along the south coast though. Tides will be low around midday and we will have highs soon after dawn and around the evening rush hour (increasing incrementally from 7.5m to 8.2m).
Friday and Saturday
Weather
Winds will change from moderate force 4 SW’ly on Friday to WNW’ly on Saturday. The change will come in the night time, when a showery cold front moves through, giving us quite a good soaking but leaving us with a much sunnier Saturday than Friday. That said, the temperature won’t be any higher… max temperature will likely be 18°C on both days (maybe 19°C in Town if we are lucky).
Surf and the Water
More flatness on Friday, but there will be some rideable 3-4 foot choppiness on Saturday. If there’s going to be a brief moment for kite-surfing or windsurfing then that will probably be the first half of Saturday morning. As for the smoothest swimming conditions, they will always be found along the east coast.
Sunday to Tuesday
Weather
Three gorgeously warm and sunny days. The only details I can really add to that are the nitty gritty of winds and temperature. Sunday… light force 3 WNW’ly breezes, making the 19°C max feel very comfortable. Monday… light force 2 NNE’ly breezes, making the 20°C max feel even lovelier. Tuesday… swings and roundabouts, with the temperature possibly reaching 21°C but the force 4-5 ENE’ly forcing people to find shelter in order to feel as nice as the previous day.
Surf and the Water
We will probably have clean and rideable long-period 1-2 foot swell on Sunday and Monday, which will then be flattened by the wind on Tuesday. Swimming conditions will be lovely just about everywhere through Sunday and Monday, but sheltered nooks will be required on Tuesday. The tides will be high around breakfast time and dusk (ranging between 8.4m and 8.8m). Low tides will be in the early to mid afternoons.
The next forecast update will be on Friday morning…
