Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 21 June 2024

Friday

Weather

A sunny start, slowly slowly changing to a cloudy middle, followed by a wet end. That wetness starting around 8pm and then lasting roughly until dawn tomorrow. During the dry hours of daylight though, the temperature will be a bit lower than yesterday, only peaking between 18 and 19°C this time, with a slightly brisker W’ly wind… force 3 in the morning, force 4 in the afternoon and then force 5 in the evening. Town and other sheltered eastern spots will always be the warmest and most comfortable areas.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf, but gorgeous glassy swimming conditions early morning, then some reasonable kite-surfing/windsurfing conditions in the evening. Tides will be high at 6:45am and 7:5pm (8.1m and 8.5m respectively. Low tide will be at lunchtime.

The Weekend

Weather

Temperature-wise it will be even-Stevens, with both Saturday and Sunday peaking around 19°C. Saturday being a balance of copious sunshine, with a relatively cool force 4 WNW’ly breeze. Sunday being a balance of cloudy, misty conditions, with a mild and very light (force 2) SSW’ly. Both day’s will most probably be dry. There’s only the smallest chance that Sunday’s mist patches might turn a little drizzly at times. Saturday will feel nicest in the southeast of the Island, because it will be most sheltered from the coolness of the wind. Sunday will feel nicest in the northeast, because that’s where the cloud is most likely to fragment and let a little sunshine slip through.

Surf and the Water

Choppy, sloppy 4 foot surf on Saturday, then much cleaner 3 foot surf on Sunday. Saturday’s swimming conditions will be best on the east coast. Sunday’s should be good on all coasts. Tides will be high at breakfast time and in the evenings (rising incrementally from 8.4m to 8.8m). Low tides will be in the early afternoons.

Next Week

Weather

A sunny week… warmest through the first couple of days when a continental ENE’ly airflow will take temperatures to daily maxima of 22-23°C. Wednesday onward should be a little cooler, with an Atlantic airflow preventing temperatures from rising higher than 19-20°C each day. Wednesday will probably be the breeziest day, with a moderate force 4 WNW’ly. The winds on the other days generally gentle and very comfortable. The only threat of rain is the slight chance of a thundery shower on Tuesday night, but it currently looks far more likely to stay dry.

Surf and the Water

The surf will probably be 2 feet and clean every day except Wednesday, when it’s likely to be 3 feet and rather choppy. High tides will shuffle forward each day, from breakfast time on Monday to midday by Friday (8.6m reducing incrementally to just 8m). Low tides will shuffle forward each day from mid-afternoon Monday to early evening by Friday.

The next forecast update will be on Sunday or Monday…
