Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 27 June 2024

Friday

Weather

A pretty lovely day, albeit with an Atlantic airflow, which is relatively cool compared to the continental heat in the first half of the week. There will be one or two cloudier spells, but the day should be sunny on the whole, and the W'ly wind will only be light force 3, so it should feel very pleasant, even though the temperature will only peak between 19 and 20°C (Town and the east coast always feeling a little warmer than the rest of the Island.

Surf and the Water

Some cleanish surf, with a decent amount of push... 4 feet in the morning, dropping to 3 feet by evening. The east coast will always be smoothest for swimming, but the other coasts won't be very much rougher. Low tide will be around 6am and 6:30pm. High tide will be at 12:10pm (roughly 8m in depth).

The Weekend

Weather

Just like Friday, the skies will be cloudy at times but more frequently sunny (with a max UV index of B, so be very careful not to get sunburnt). The light force 3 wind will be N'ly Saturday and then NW'ly on Sunday. Neither direction bringing any warmer than Friday, so the most likely max will be 19-20°C on both days, but this time the south coast should feel just as gorgeous as the west.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be about 2 feet and a bit sloppy, but it should be plenty rideable for longboarders and beginners. The south coast will continue to host the smoothest swimming conditions, although the other coasts will be almost as lovely. High tides will be in the early afternoons (7.8m and 7.6m respectively). Low tides will be at breakfast time and in the evenings.

Next Week

Weather

A week of average summer weather... light to moderate Wily or NW'ly breezes, bringing temperatures in the low teens by night and the high teens or perhaps 20°C by day. Most days will be dry, but there could be a couple of showers here and there... nothing too heavy and never particularly prolonged. The east coast will generally be a tiny bit warmer than the rest of the Island.

Surf and the Water

A week of sloppy 1-3 foot west-coast surf and super-clean east-coast swimming conditions. Tides will initially be low in the mornings but they will nudge along to lunchtime by Thursday and Friday. High tides will initially be in the mid to late afternoons but they will nudge along to the evenings by Thursday and Friday.

The next forecast update will be with you on Sunday...
