Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 06 July 2024

Saturday

Weather

Much sunnier than Friday, but also much chillier, as a stiff and gusty W’ly blows force 5-6. Western parts will feel coolest, whilst Town is warmest (only just reaching 17°C at the peak). Showers will be very few and far between, so there is a high chance of them missing the Islands altogether, but it’s worth being aware that we could get one or two brief splatterings.

Surf and the Water

Very choppy 4-5 foot surf on the west coast, along with good windsurfing conditions. Smooth swimming conditions will be reserved for the east and a couple of other nooks, such as Saints Bay or right beside the wall at Pembroke. Tides will be high at 7:45am and 8pm (8.5m and 8.7m respectively). Low tide will be at 2pm.

Sunday

Weather

The wind will be fractionally lighter… a force 4-5 WSW’ly, but skies will be a bit cloudier all day and the chances of catching a shower will be much higher in the morning. The air won’t be quite so frigid though, so 17°C should be a more widespread max temp, and we might even rack up 18°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

Choppy 3-4 foot surf on the west coast and, once again, the windsurfing conditions will be pretty good as well. Swimming conditions will be best along the east coast and at Pembroke. Tides will be high at 8:30am and 8:40pm (8.5m and 8.8m respectively). Low tide will be at 2:45pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

These are the wettest days of the forecast period, but also some of the warmest. The air will be coming up from France, on a force 3-4 SE’ly, so it should feel pretty nice whenever we see a brief spell of sunshine (most likely Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon. However, in between those times… late afternoon Monday until lunchtime Tuesday, we do expect to see some fairly heavy and perhaps persistent rain. Not great for outdoor activity, but much needed for the soil in our fields and gardens. Max temps will most likely be 19°C on Monday and 20°C on Tuesday.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 1-2 foot surf, maybe with the odd sneak 3 foot set. Good swimming conditions on the west and north coasts. High tides will be around mid-morning and dusk (generally around 8.5m). Low tides will be mid-afternoon.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

Long sunny periods, especially in the afternoons, with fairly light winds (force 2-3)… W’ly on Wednesday, NE’ly on Thursday and N’ly on Friday. This should lead to max temps of 19°C but there is a chance of 20°C each day, and it will certainly feel nice and comfortable with the lack of wind and only the smallest chance of a brief light shower in the mornings.

Surf and the Water

Sloppy 2-4 foot surf on Wednesday, 1-3 feet on Thursday, then almost flat on Friday. Swimming conditions will generally be smoothest on the east coast on Wednesday, then the south coast on Thursday and Friday. Tides will be high in the late mornings (8.1m decreasing to 7.6m) and low in the late afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Monday…
