Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 14 July 2024

Sunday

Weather

A gorgeously still day, making the sea look like a mirror on all coasts. It looks as though skies will cloud up for a time in the morning, but the rest of the day should be packed with sunshine and the temperature should peak at a very pleasant 21°C.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf, but beautifully glassy conditions on all coasts for swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding. The tide will be low at 6:40am and 7pm. High tide will be 7m at 12:45pm.

Monday

Weather

A very wet morning, with prolonged rain that will occasionally turn heavy. Early afternoon will see a clearance to long sunny spells and just the odd brief shower (although those showers could still be heavy and perhaps even thundery). The max temp should be about 19°C and it will probably feel a bit cooler than that as the SW’ly wind increases force 4-5.

Surf and the Water

Maybe some rideable 1-2 foot surf (cleanest in the morning and the early afternoon). Maybe also some good windsurfing conditions late afternoon. The tide will be low at 7:30am and 8pm. High tide will be 6.9m at 1:40pm.

Tuesday

Weather

Just one or two brief showers to clear through in the morning, and then we are looking at a straight-forward day of dryness and increasing sunshine. The moderate force 4 W’ly breeze will stop the temperature from quite reaching 20°C though, except perhaps in Town.

Surf and the Water

A very refreshing pulse of 2-3 foot surf (rather choppy though). The east coast will be beautifully sheltered though, so the swimming conditions will be lovely there. The tide will be low at 8:40am and 9:15pm. High tide will be 6.8m at 2:50pm.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

Three days of dryness and partial sunshine. The lightness of the wind… mostly force 2-3 SW’ly should allow temperatures to reach 21°C each day in most locations, but possibly 22°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

Low tides will be in the mid to late mornings. High tides will be in the late afternoons (7.1m, 7.4m and 7.9m respectively). The west coast should host some 2-3 foot surf most of the time, whilst the east coast hosts the best swimming conditions.

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday…
