Friday
Weather
A cloudy and drizzly start, but this shouldn’t last longer than breakfast time, then we should see partially cloudy skies for the rest of the morning, before we see fabulous blue sky through the afternoon and evening. Whilst all those changes occur, the wind will be quite a perky W’ly… force 5 early morning, gradually reducing to force 3 by dusk. This means that the forthcoming warmth certainly won’t be with us yet. Max temps will probably be 20°C in most areas and 21°C in Town.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be about 3 feet and choppy, but the swimming conditions will be lovely on the east coast and in some sheltered south coast nooks. Tides will be 8.3m high at 10:20am and then low at 4:30pm.
Saturday
Weather
Mostly sunny, just a few puffs of cloud. Winds will be light force 3 SW’ly in the morning, reducing to light force 2 W’ly by evening, allowing temperatures to creep up to a max of 22°C in most areas and 23°C in Town.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be about 3 feet and clean but rather weak. Swimming conditions will be lovely all around the Island, especially towards the end of the day. Tides will be 8m high at 10:45am and then low at 5pm.
Sunday
Weather
Now here is the real scorcher of a day. The light force 3-4 E’ly wind will give us a real blast of continental heat, meaning that the super-sunny skies should lift us to a max of 27°C, and we might even climb a degree higher than that in the far southwest of the Island. Don’t forget to stay well hydrated, especially during the night time, when the minimum temperature probably won’t be any lower than 17°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be 2 feet and clean, and the swimming conditions will be gorgeous, especially along the west coast… the perfect remedy for that continental heat. Tides will be 7.6m high at 11:15am and then low at 5:20pm.
Next Week
Weather
Another hot day on Monday, but cloudier than Sunday and probably finishing off with some showers (maybe thundery). Winds will be light force 3 S’ly to start, then gradually veering W’ly. Max temps should therefore be about 25-26°C, but maybe a degree lower if that cloud thickens up a little too quickly. The rest of the week will then be a more normal story of moderate W’ly breezes, partial sunshine, a couple of random showers here and there, with daily max temperatures of about 21°C.
Surf and the Water
Semi-clean 2 foot surf on Monday, followed by choppy 3-4 foot surf on the subsequent days. Swimming conditions will always be best along the east coast. Low tides will creep forward each day, from around dawn on Monday to late morning by Friday. High tides also creeping forward from around midday on Monday to late afternoon by Friday.
The next forecast update will be on Monday evening...
