Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 03 November 2024

Image uploaded by Jane Falla

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Light ESE’ly winds (force 3 on Monday, reducing to force 2 on Tuesday) will bring low cloud and mist, with steady temperatures of about 10-12°C by night and 12-14°C by day. The cloud will possibly break up at times, to allow some brighter spells to infiltrate. However, at other times, the cloud will thicken enough to cause some disruptive fog.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean knee-high surf on the west coast, and that’s probably going to be where the best swimming conditions are too (by a whisker). Tides will be high at breakfast time (8.7m on Monday then 8.4m on Tuesday. Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

Very little change indeed… still very grey, misty or foggy at times (probably a bit brighter on Friday). The wind will be SE’ly light force 2, barely noticeable really. No significant change in temperature either… the cloud preventing any significant daytime heating, as well as any significant overnight cooling (so that’s probably about 10-12°C by night and 12-14°C by day).

Surf and the Water

Wednesday’s surf will be very close to flat, Thursday about knee-high, then hopefully waist-high on Friday… all of it absolutely clean as a whistle. Just like the previous days, the water will be nice and smooth for swimming all around the Island, but it might be just a whisker closer to perfection on the west and north coasts. High tides will be 8.1m at 8:45am Wednesday, 7.7m at 9:20am Thursday then 7.3m at 10:10am Friday. Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

Next Weekend

Weather

Light and variable breezes will mean that the persistent cloud-sheet will most likely keep on keeping on, in its same old comfortably temperate manner… about 10-12°C by night and 12-14°C by day. I hope this repetitive weather forecast isn’t getting too tedious for you. At least it’s not too cold and it’s really good for just about every outdoor activity.

Surf and the Water

Some bigger surf (2-3 feet on Saturday, increasing 4-5 feet on Sunday), and still gorgeously clean. Perfectly smooth swimming conditions all around the Island. High tides will be about 7.1m… at 11:25am Saturday and 12:55pm Sunday. Low tides will be shortly before dawn and soon after dusk.

The next forecast update will on Tuesday or Wednesday…
