Saturday
Weather
Cloudy again. A little misty at times, but on this occasion there is very little risk of fog and a much greater chance of drizzle. The E’ly breeze will be very light though and the air comfortably mild, with the temperature floating around 12-13°C all day.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be gorgeously clean… 2-3 feet at the start of the day, shrinking to 1-2 feet by the end. Swimming conditions should be lovely on all coasts because the breeze will be so light. Small tides, with a high of 7.1m at 11:20am, followed by a low of 3.4m around dusk.
Sunday
Weather
The chance of a few more drizzly showers, but generally a slightly drier and less misty day than Saturday. The afternoon in particular should be much improved, with quite a high likelihood of actually seeing some sunny spells (the first of the month). Winds will be very light again… just a force 2 SE’ly on this occasion, meaning that the 14°C max should feel very pleasant.
Surf and the Water
Another day of super-clean waves… tiny to start, just 1-2 feet, but picking up nicely to about 3 feet by dusk. Gorgeously smooth water for swimming on all coasts. Small tides again, with low water around first light and then high water just shy of 1pm (7.1m).
Monday and Tuesday
Weather
Just the slim chance of a shower Monday lunchtime, and then a greater risk on Tuesday night. Otherwise, dry with some bright or sunny spells. A fairly chilly NNE’ly breeze though… moderate force 4 on Monday then fresh force 5 on Tuesday. The south coast will be the only place to escape it properly. Max temps will be reasonable on Monday… 13-14°C, but rather pathetic on Tuesday… only about 11°C.
Surf and the Water
Choppy surf on both days, but a decent size… 3-4 feet. The south coast will be the place to find smooth swimming conditions. Increasing tidal movements… lows around breakfast time, highs at 2:20pm Monday (7.5m) and at 3:20pm (8.1m).
The Rest of Next Week
Weather
The NE’ly wind will remain force 4-5 and feeling decidedly chilly in all places except for the sheltered south coast. There will probably be showers at some point on each day and some of them could be quite heavy, especially on Thursday and Friday. Daily max temps dropping to a mere 10°C, overnight min temps dropping to about 7°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will likely be around 2-3 feet and choppy each day. Swimming conditions remaining best along the south coast and tidal movements becoming large. Highs around dusk… 8.7m Wednesday, 9.3m Thursday and 9.5m Friday.
The next forecast update will be on Monday evening…
