### Tuesday and Wednesday
Weather
A chilly ENE’ly wind, accompanied by cloudy skies and the odd light shower… all making for rather uncomfortable but bland conditions. Temperatures will hover between 7 and 9°C by day and between 5 and 7°C by night. For a little shelter and generally less cold feeling, the south coast will provide a few cosy corners. Likewise one or two west coast spots, so long as you tuck in nice and close to a big sea wall.
Surf and the Water
Cleanish 1-2 foot surf on the west coast. Swimming conditions will also be smoothest on that side of the Island, so long as you go when the tide is fairly high. High water will be about 7.6m around 1:30pm Tuesday and about 7.9m around 2:45pm Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
The air will still be very cool, but the conditions will be so much nicer… partially sunny skies along with a much gentler ESE’ly breeze (force 3-4 on Thursday and then just force 2 on Friday). This will mean that you don’t generally need to seek shelter to feel nice. That said, a few layers will still be required, given that temperature will well and truly stay in single figures… peaking at 7-8°C on Thursday and 8-9°C on Friday, then falling to a frosty 3-4°C by night.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 1-2 foot surf on the west coast. Swimming conditions will also be smoothest on that side of the Island, so long as you go when the tide is fairly high. High water will be about 8.2m around 3:50pm Thursday and about 8.5m around 4:45pm Friday.
The Weekend
Weather
Mostly cloudy, showery and feeling cold, but at least the wind will ease significantly… strong force 6 NNE’ly on Monday and then fresh force 5 NE’ly on Tuesday. Once again the south coast will be most sheltered, so that would be the destination for a relatively comfortable outing. Temperatures peaking at around 8°C (maybe 9°C if we are lucky), then falling to about 6°C by night.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 1-2 foot surf on the west coast. Swimming conditions will also be smoothest on that side of the Island, so long as you go when the tide is fairly high. High water will be roughly 8.8m shortly before dawn and shortly after dusk each day.
Next Week
Weather
More dry and partially sunny weather, brought by moderate SE’ly breezes through Monday and Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday, we will likely transition to a S’ly wind with cloudier skies, before Thursday and Friday, swing round to stronger and soggier SW’ly. All of this will be on the mild side, probably exceeding 12°C each day. Slight chance of mist and hill fog towards the end of the week.
Surf and the Water
Clean surf every day, increasing gradually from about 1 foot on Monday to 4 feet by Friday. High tides will be in the early mornings (9.1m, gradually shrinking to about 8.4m). Low tides will be in the afternoons.
The next forecast update will on Thursday or Friday…
