Friday
Weather
Cloudy with occasional drizzly rain. Perhaps rather misty around lunchtime. Winds will be force 4-5 SE’ly, making the 5-7°C air temperature feel even more chilly. The best places to find some shelter and relative comfort will be between Vazon and Pleinmont.
Surf and the Water
A super-clean 4 foot swell on the west coast. Maybe just enough wind for a kite-surfing session toos. The west will also be the best coast for a winter-swim, in one of the more swell-protected Bays like Cobo. Tides will be high at 8:45am (9.2m) and low at 2:!5pm.
The Weekend
Weather
A risk of showers on Sunday (mainly in the afternoon). Otherwise, we are looking at an entirely dry weekend, with cloudy skies for the most part but with some hazy sunshine at times. The wind story will be an improving one though, with Saturday’s force 4-5 ESE’ly, relaxing to just force 2-3 by the end of Sunday. Temperatures should peak around 9°C each day, but there is a slim chance that we might just tickle double figures if that hazy sunshine is suitably plentiful.
Surf and the Water
The surf will remain clean and reasonably powerful, probably 3-4 feet both days. Saturday morning probably the only time with a perky enough wind for kite-surfing. The tidal movements will remain large, with breakfast-time highs of 9.2m and 9m respectively. Low water will be in the mid-afternoons.
Next Week
Weather
A very similar week in terms of wind and weather… mostly cloudy but dry, with winds varying between S’ly and E’ly… light force 3 to fresh force 5 (possibly strong force 6 on Thursday and Friday). Temperatures are looking pleasantly higher though, with 10 or 11°C looking achievable most days.
Surf and the Water
Another week of clean surf, probably no smaller than 2 feet in the smallest moments (Wednesday and Thursday), probably 4-6 feet on the other days. Tides gradually shrinking, such that by Friday the high will only be 6.7m in the late morning.
The next forecast update will on Monday morning…
