Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 22 February 2025

Sunday

Weather

A windy and increasingly cloudy day, as rain approaches from the west but doesn’t actually fall until after dusk. The air will be similarly mild to the previous days, peaking around 11-12°C. However, with the cloudy skies and the brisk wind, you will probably still want a decent jacket. Those winds will be force 4-5 S’ly for the most part, perhaps briefly strong force 6 after dark, when the rain finally arrives.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 6 foot waves for surfers. Quite a strong offshore wind though, which means it’s also going to be excellent for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Tidal movements will be tiny… low at breakfast time, then just 6.4m high at 2:40pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Sunday night’s rain will have been heavy enough to make some decent sized puddles. Likewise, there will be a few more downpours on Monday night. Daylight hours will probably be dry on both Monday and Tuesday though, with gentle (force 3-4) W’ly breezes bringing partial sunshine and max temps of 11°C and 10°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

The wind will be onshore on the west coast, but it will be light enough that the 6-8 foot waves will still be fairly clean. No good for windsurfing or kitesurfing on these days. Pretty good for winter swimmers though, over on the east coast. Tides will be low in the mid-late mornings. High water will be 6.9m around 4pm on Monday, then 7.6m around 5pm on Tuesday.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

Across these three days, the wind will change from a light SW’ly to a stronger SE’ly. There is the slight chance of a shower here and there but the vast majority of the time will be dry and partially sunny. Temperatures will peak at around 10-11°C each day, so not vastly different from previous days. Only marginally cooler.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be increasingly clean but it will decrease in size… probably 4-5 feet on Wednesday, 3-4 feet on Thursday and 2-3 feet on Friday. Thursday will probably be the best day for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The other day’s better for swimmers (east /north on Wednesday, west/north coasts on Friday. Tides will be high shortly before dawn and also in the early evenings, increasing from 8.2m on Wednesday to 9.5m on Friday. Low tides will be around lunchtime.

Next Weekend

Weather

Sunshine and showers, probably more of the showers on Saturday and more of the sunshine on Sunday, but that detail is tricky to pin down at long range. Winds will vary in direction through Saturday as a low pressure system passes overhead, probably force 3-4. Then on Sunday, winds will most likely become slightly stronger and more consistently S’ly. Max temps roughly 12°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf should be about 3-4 feet and semi-clean on Saturday, then slightly bigger and cleaner on Sunday. Sunday most likely the best day for windsurfers and kitrsurfers. Tidal movements will be pretty huge, with highs around breakfast time 9.9m and 10m respectively. Lows will be in the early afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Monday or Tuesday…
