Thursday
Weather
The morning will be about as sunny as Wednesday was, only slightly hazed by high cloud towards lunchtime. That high cloud will continue to thicken through the afternoon but not really dampen the potential of the temperature rise. If anything is to prevent it from feeling as warm as Wednesday, then it’s the strength of the SSE’ly… force 4-5. The max will be about 14°C in the late afternoon, and then we probably won’t fall any lower than 10°C in the night time.
Surf and the Water
Clean but sloppy 1-2 foot surf through most of the day, perhaps increasing 3-4 feet towards dusk. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will not be classic but they’ll certainly be better than recent days. Tides will be 7.9m high at 10:50am, then low around 5pm.
Friday
Weather
A few showers likely on this day. Probably starting before dawn, clearing around breakfast time and then not returning until late in the night. There is the slight chance of a few splashes in between, but it will most probably be dry with hazy sunshine through that time, with the same moderate SSE’ly winds and the same temperatures as the previous day… max 14°C, min 10°C.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 4 foot surf. Possibly some reasonable kitesurfing conditions around lunchtime. Tides will be 7m high at 11:45am, then low around 6pm.
The Weekend
Weather
Saturday looks just like Friday, with the likelihood of one or two showers, punctuated by spells of weak sunshine. Sunday generally a cloudier affair, with patchy light rain that might be more prolonged. Winds will be strongest on Saturday… force 4-5 SSE’ly, then lighter on Sunday… force 3-4 ESE’ly. The temperature reducing as well, with a max of 13-14°C on Saturday, then 12-13°C on Sunday. This is all warmer than the week to come though, so be sure to make the most of it.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be about 3 feet and clean on Saturday, decreasing 1-2 feet through Sunday. Conditions should be pretty good for for windsurfers and kitesurfers, especially in the mornings. Tides will be low around breakfast time and high in the early afternoons (very small… just 6.5m on Saturday and 6.7m on Sunday).
Next Week
Weather
A total mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, with one or two showers likely each day, probably heavier in the first half of the week, then lighter later. The most predictable part of the forecast is the wind and temperature… moderate NE’ly for the most part, with daily maxima of only 8-10°C and nightly minima of 6-7°C. The south coast always feeling most sheltered and pleasant.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be close to flat most days, maybe increasing to 2 feet and clean on Friday. Winds might occasionally be ok for windsurfers and kitesurfers though. Although often feeling cold, the south coast will be reasonably sheltered for anybody who wants to go for a swim. Tides will generally be low around midday and high around dawn and dusk, increasing incrementally from 7.2m to 9m.
The next forecast update will be on Sunday evening…
