Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 15 March 2025

Saturday

Weather

Sunshine and showers. The showers quite frequent, especially in the morning, but slightly lighter than those of the previous days and probably without the little hail stones. Temperatures will be about as low as the last few days, only peaking at 7-8°C, but it will feel colder because the NE’ly wind will be stronger… moderate force 4 soon increasing to fresh force 5. For much needed shelter, simply walk beneath the sea walls along the west coast, or along the south-coast cliff-paths.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be almost flat and blighted by a cross-shore wind anyway. South-coast swims will be the best bet for anybody that likes to get in the cold water every day. High tide will be about 9.3m at 7:20am and 9m at 7:40pm. Low water will be at 1:45pm (lots and lots of exposed sand on those south-coast beaches).

Sunday

Weather

Perhaps not entirely shower-free but most likely the driest day of the weekend. However, it’s swings and roundabouts because it will probably be cloudier than Saturday, so the net effect will be a similarly chilly feeling day, with temperatures climbing no higher than 7-8°C. The NE’ly wind won’t be quite as strong, only moderate force 4, but it will still be necessary to seek shelter if you want to feel comfortable out there.

Surf and the Water

Another day of rather choppy and very tiny surf, but decent swimming conditions in those areas that are sheltered from a NE’ly. Tides will be high at roughly 8am and pm… roughly 9.1m each time. Low tide will be around 2:15pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Only the slimmest chance of showers on Monday morning. Otherwise, we are looking at two increasingly dry and sunny days… probably cloudy on Monday morning, then partly cloudy Monday afternoon through until Tuesday morning, then clear sky and bright sunshine throughout Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will gradually climb but the warming won’t be especially notieable due to a simultaneous strengthening of the wind… going through Monday with a moderate force 4 E’ly and then Tuesday with a fresh force 5 (perhaps occasionally strong force 6) SE’ly. Max daytime temperatures will be about 10°C and 12°C respectively. Min overnight temperatures will be between 6 and 8°C depending on your precise location.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf on Monday but probably some super-clean 2 foot waves on Tuesday. The west coast will also be the best area for a sea-swim, with high water always offering the best protection from the wind. Those highs will be around breakfast time (8.9m and 8.6m respectively). Low tides will be in the mid-afteroons.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

Firmly in the mild air, skies should be super sunny through Wednesday but probably cloudy through Thursday and Friday. However, that won’t stop temperatures from climbing into the low teens every day and only falling to mins of 9-10°C each night. The wind will be SSE’ly throughout, mostly moderate force 4, but occasionally stepping up to fresh force 5 and perhaps occasionally (hopefully) dropping to light force. If any day is likely to be wet then it is Friday, but we are probably only talking about spits and spots during the daytime, with no heavier rain coming until night time.

Surf and the Water

Wednesday should have some clean 2 foot surf, possibly with a lucky 3 foot set thrown in from time to time, then Thursday and Friday will probably see a gradual decline to flatness. If however, we are blessed with any bigger waves than forecast, we can at least be sure that they will be incredibly clean. Tides will be high in the mid-mornings… 8.3m 7.8m and 7.4m respectively (these will also be the best times to head to the west or north coast if you are a keen sea-swimmer). Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Monday…
