Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 23 April 2025

Wednesday

Weather

The heavy showers should be over by about 9am (10 at the latest). Then we are looking at a day of increasing sunshine and decreasing winds… dropping off from a gusty force 4 WNW’ly early morning, to just a light force 2-3 by evening. The east coast will be warmest by a longshot, with Town scooping the top temp of about 15°C whilst most western areas only manage 13°C.

Surf and the Water

The best swimming conditions will be around Fermain in the morning, but winds will have eased significantly by evening, making most other beaches almost as calm. The surf will also improve as a result of this general calming… the 3-4 foot waves remaining quite lumpy but certainly becoming smoother. Tidal movements are still tiny, but getting slightly larger. Low water will be at 9:45am. High water will be 7.1m at 3:50pm.

Thursday

Weather

Mostly sunny and calm… just a light force 1-2 SE’ly. This wind direction will generally bring warmer air from the continent but it will also bring some low cloud and perhaps some sea mist as early morning French fog drifts offshore and slowly gathers moisture en-route. The majority of the Island will be bathed in sunshine though, which should lift the temperature to a widespread afternoon max of 15°C (L’Ancresse Common feeling particularly gorgeous).

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 3 foot surf… a real treat for surfers. Some gorgeous swimming conditions too, on all coasts, in every bay. Tides will be low at 10:50am and then high at 5pm (7.8m).

Friday and Saturday

Weather

Sunshine and showers on these days, but the great news is that most of the showers will be during the night time. During daylight hours, the showers will most likely be late Friday and early Saturday, leaving most other hours to be fine and dry. Winds will be very light… virtually flat calm on Saturday and then a force 2-3 NW’ly on Saturday. All areas should feel gorgeous, but the east coast will certainly have the edge on Saturday. Max temps should be a widespread 16°C on Friday. Town will be just as warm on Saturday, but other areas will probably peak at 14-15°C.

Surf and the Water

Glassy 3-4 foot surf on Friday (absolutely gorgeous) and then slightly choppier (but still very good) 4-6 foot surf on Saturday. Superb swimming conditions on both days (particularly on the east and south coasts). Tides will be low around midday, and high around dawn and dinner time (increasing incrementally from 8.3m to 9.1m).

Sunday to Tuesday

Weather

Three days united by their fine and dry conditions. Sunday looks especially lovely, as high pressure will be almost directly overhead… barely a breath of wind and barely a wisp of cloud. Monday and Tuesday will be mostly sunny too, but there will be probably some low cloud or patches of sea mist, carried across the Islands by a stronger SE’ly wind… only force 3 early Monday and late Tuesday, but force 4-5 for the majority of the time in between. The air will be warming though, with temperatures peaking around 17°C, 18°C and 19°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

Dreamy clean surf each day… most likely 4-5 feet on Sunday, 3-4 feet on Monday and then just 2 feet on Tuesday. Swimming conditions will be best in all areas on Sunday and more confined to western or northern areas on Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be around breakfast time and towards dusk (whoppers… ranging between 9.5m and 9.8m).

The next forecast update will be on Friday…
