Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 26 May 2025

Tuesday

Weather

A cloudy day on the whole, although there could be some bright intervals in the afternoon. Rain-wise, we are probably looking at some mist and drizzle in the morning, mainly on the western side of the Island. The afternoon will probably be dry but remain cloudy. Then, in the evening, we will probably see the return of rain, still patchy but probably heavier than in the morning. Winds and temperatures all pretty similar to the previous day… force 5 SW’ly for the wind and 16°C for the max.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish 4-5 foot surf and great conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing too. That’s mainly on the west coast… for the swimmers, the east coast will be the prime location, especially Fermain, Havelet and the bathing pools. Tides will be high around 7:20am and 7:40pm (pretty huge, in honour of the new moon… 9.2m and 9.4m respectively). Low tide will be around 1:40pm.

Wednesday and Thursday

Weather

Similar temperature and wind-strength to Tuesday. A slight difference in the wind direction through… W’ly on Wednesday and WSW’ly on Thursday. Skies will be mostly cloudy but probably dry. Some brief sunshine will slip through cloud-gaps in the mornings. Then we will probably see some longer sunny spells in the afternoons. Max temps around 16°C in most parishes, but 17°C in St Peter Port.

Surf and the Water

A couple more days of fresh winds… ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing, but forcing swimmers to the find sheltered eastern nooks. Surf-wise, it’s looking like a 4 foot day on Wednesday and a 2 foot day on Thursday. High water will be around breakfast time and dusk, ranging between 9.1m and 9.4m. Low tides will be in the early to mid-afternoons.

Friday

Weather

The loveliest day of the working week… maybe cloudy, maybe sunny, probably a bit of both. The most important thing however is that it will be dry and virtually windless, making it the perfect day to walk, run, cycle, swim, read at the beach or in the garden and maybe have a barbecue in the evening. The max temp will probably be 17°C, so not much higher than the previous days, but definitely a lot more comfortable.

Surf and the Water

Another day of 2 foot surf, but much cleaner on this occasion, due to the absence of wind. Furthermore, the glassiness of the water will mean that every bay, on every coast, should be equally suitable to go for a sea-swim. High water will be 8.7m at 9:45am. Low water will be at 4pm.

The Weekend

Weather

The wind will be W’ly in direction, much like many recent days. However, it Saturday should be almost as light as on Friday (probably force 2-3), and even on Sunday it won’t be nearly as strong as in the early part of this week (probably force 3-4). Weather-wise, it’s looking sunny for the vast majority of these two days. Some cloudier spells are likely, but showers will probably be confined to inland parts of France and England. Max temps will likely be 18-19°C on Saturday, and then only one degree lower than that on Sunday, when the breeze becomes slightly stronger.

Surf and the Water

Saturday’s surf should be 2 feet and clean, then Sunday’s should pick up to 3-4 feet but be pretty choppy with it. Saturday will generally be the better swimming day and Sunday the better kitesurfing day. Tides will be high in the late mornings (8.3m and 7.8m respectively) and low in the late afternoons

The next forecast update will be on Thursday evening or Friday morning…
