Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 01 June 2025

Monday

Weather

A totally dry and much sunnier day than Sunday, and less windy too. The breeze will be a light force 2 N’ly in the morning, backing W’ly in the afternoon. Everywhere will therefore feel lovely, but the UV index will be very high (peaking at 7 through lunchtime), so not so lovely if you get sunburnt. Max temps will be 18°C in most places but 19°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

A pretty solid 4 foot swell on the west coast, which will be complimented by a very light wind, so it should be lovely and clean despite being technically onshore. Swimmers will find great conditions on all coasts but especially the south and east. High water will be about 7.3m just after midday. Low water will be shortly after 6am and pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

And it’s back to windy (and occasionally wet). Tuesday’s SW’ly wind will increase to fresh force 5 by lunchtime, the cloud thickening as it does so, such that rain will set in around midday and then clear away around 2 or 3pm. There will be some sunny spells through the rest of Tuesday and through Wednesday too, but there will be the odd shower. The wind should taper off to a light force 3 W’ly through Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, then perk up to moderate force 4 on Wednesday afternoon. This all means that the east coast (especially Town and Fermain) will be the most sheltered and comfortable locations… temperatures peaking at 18°C and 17°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

The surf will remain around 4 feet swell, generally quite clean on Tuesday and choppier on Wednesday. Swimmers will find the smoothest conditions at Fermain, and around high tide in one or two north and west coast nooks. High water will be roughly 7m around 1pm Tuesday and 2pm Wednesday. Low water will be around breakfast time and shortly before dusk.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

Rather like the previous two days repeated, but everything just a little more enhanced… Thursday’s SSW’ly wind fresh force 5 to strong force 6, with a longer spell of heavier rain, then Friday’s wind relaxing to a light force 3 W’ly but the showers (mainly around dawn and dusk) probably quite heavy too. The temperatures will most likely peak at 16°C and 17°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

Another couple of 4 foot surf days, following roughly the same pattern as the previous two days… likely cleaner on Thursday and choppier on Friday. Swimming conditions still best in the east but also in some western and northern nooks. Tides low in the mid-mornings and high in the mid-afternoons (7m and 7.2m respectively).

The Weekend

Weather

And the alternating pattern continues, with an even stronger SW’ly wind on Saturday, eventually veering W’ly once an area of heavy rain has cleared through. Then, on Sunday, the wind will relax to a force 3-4 NW’ly and any remaining showers should soon give way to simple sunshine. Temperatures still peaking around 16°C in most places but probably 17°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

The surf much bigger (6-8 feet) but again, roughly following the same two day pattern… likely cleanish on Saturday and probably quite choppy on Sunday. Swimming conditions still best in the east but also in some western and northern nooks. Tides low in the late mornings and high towards dinnertime (7.5m and 7.8m respectively).

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning…
