Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 16 June 2025

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

Firmly under the influence of a high-pressure system, close to Ireland, these two days will be sunny and dry, with only a little wispy or bubbly cloud at times. The wind will be very light, making both days extremely comfortable, but the gradual change in direction, from a SW’ly on Tuesday morning to a NE’ly by Wednesday evening, will lead to a gradual and subtle increase in warmth. To put some numbers on it, the days should have max temps of 20-21°C on Tuesday and then 22-23°C on Wednesday. Nightly min temps should be about 11-12°C and then 13-14°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be virtually flat on Tuesday, then about knee-high for longboarders on Wednesday (hopefully). Swimming conditions will be good in all areas but probably best in the south for the majority of the time. Tides will be high close to midday (7.6m and 7.5m respectively). Low tides will be soon after dawn and then again around dinner time.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

A couple of scorchers, with ESE’ly winds (moderate force 4) bringing dry continental air. Thursday will have bright sunshine and, as such, it will likely have the top temperature of 26°C. Friday will have cloudier skies, but hazy sunshine will still manage to filter though. My best estimate for the max on this day is about 24-25°C. It’s not certain though… it’s quite possible that Friday will end up hotter than Thursday, especially considering that the overnight temperatures will be uncomfortably high, with minima of around 16°C and 17°C respectively. For the finest beach experiences on both days, the west coast will be the place to go, but the east coast will be slightly better for those who prefer the cooling effect of an onshore breeze.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be super-clean but very small, mostly knee-high for longboarders, maybe waist-high on the odd bonus set. Swimming conditions will be best on the west coast at all times. Tides will be high high around 1:15pm Thursday and 2:20pm Friday (7.4m and 7.5m respectively). Low tides will be soon around breakfast time and then again in the evenings.

The Weekend

Weather

Toasting hot, with light and variable breezes and a mixture of hazy sunshine and cloudier spells. Min temps will feel rather sticky, in the mid to high teens. Max temps will be in the high twenties, the precise number depending on the weather details. Those weather details being the possibility that some mid-Channel fog banks could drift ashore, or that some thunderstorms might develop on Saturday evening or more likely at some time on Sunday. The odds of such things are pretty low though. The greater likelihood is that it will simply be a textbook weekend for camping, barbeques and beach parties.

Surf and the Water

Clean surf… waist-high on Saturday, then just knee-high on Sunday. Great swimming conditions on all coasts, with respect to wind, but locally not so great if there turns out to be a fog bank or a thunderstorm. Tides will be low in the mid-mornings and high in the mid-afternoons (7.7m and 8m respectively).

I’m away on holiday, so updates are very difficult this week. However, I expect that the next one will be on Thursday morning…
