Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 29 June 2025

Monday

Weather

This is the hot one… not long enough to be classed as a heatwave, but certainly hot enough, probably peaking at 30°C for the first time this summer, and of course June (albeit the last day) is only early summer anyway. Skies should be sunny for the vast majority of the day, the only cloudy spells briefly around breakfast time and the morning rush hour. Winds will be E’ly, light force 2-3 and thick with French heat through the daytime, but mercifully backing NW’ly through the night time, which will allow temperatures to fall to a relatively comfortable minimum of 17°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be as epic as the weather… 3-4 feet and clean. All coasts will be great for swimming and this will obviously be the perfect way to handle the heat, but don’t forget your sun protection between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Tides will be high at 11am (8.2m) then low at 5:10pm.

Tuesday

Weather

That change of wind to a NW’ly, will mean that the temperature is much closer to that of the Channel and the nearby Atlantic, starting the day around 17°C and then only nudging up to about 22°C in most areas but probably 23°C in Town. Skies should be bright at times, especially in the afternoon, but the morning will be like many of late, with plenty of low cloud and probably some mist or fog patches. During the night time there might be some showers, but it currently looks more likely that they will hold off until Wednesday.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be just as big as on Monday but not so clean. Still excellent by summer standards though. Swimming conditions will be best in the south and east. Tides will be high at 11:40am (7.8m) then low at 5:50pm.

Wednesday

Weather

Cloudy with some heavy showers likely in the morning, then lovely and sunny in the afternoon. Winds will be brisk and rather chilly… moderate force 4 NNW’ly. Sheltered southern areas should still manage a respectable 21-22°C in the afternoon though.

Surf and the Water

Head south for a swim, or west for some choppy surfing or maybe a spot of kite-surfing if the wind is up to it. Tides will be 7.4m high at 12:20pm. Lows will be at 6:20am and at 6:30pm.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

A couple of gorgeously dry and sunny days with barely a cloud in the sky. The breeze will be a force 3 NNE’ly though, which will keep us in a cool airflow, relative to the glorious weather, so we will probably only see max temps of around 21-22°C and min temps of around 15-16°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf will only be 1-2 feet but the swimming conditions will be lovely, especially on the south coast. Low tides will be at breakfast time and in the mid-evenings. High tides will be around 1pm and 2pm respectively (7.1m and 6.9m)

The Weekend

Weather

An unsettled story I’m afraid… both days windy (most likely fresh force 5), but the wind direction will vary from a SW’ly on Saturday to a WNW’ly on Sunday, the former being a milder airflow but with cloudy skies and occasional rain, the latter being a cooler airflow but with brightness and sunshine. Both days will peak at around 19-20°C in most areas, but possibly slide up to 21°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish surf through the first half of Saturday, but increasingly choppy thereafter… probably increasing from 2 feet to 4 feet through Saturday and then holding at 4-5 feet through Sunday. Swimming conditions will always be best at Fermain, but also pretty good in sheltered northern or western nooks on Saturday, and in southern nooks on Sunday. Tides will be low around breakfast to mid-morning and high in the mid-afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday or Wednesday…
