Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 12 July 2025

Sunday

Weather

The hottest day of the week, probably peaking at 28 -29°C, but maybe going all the way to the big 30°C. Skies will be super-sunny all morning and early aftenoon. After that, high cloud will first turn the sunshine hazy, and then it will thicken and become a textured shade of silver, with thundery showers feeling increasingly likely towards dusk. As is always the case, these showers are more likely to miss us tha hit us, but there is certainly a chance of it happening, and the gardens will be very grateful if it does.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf but lovely west-coast swimming conditions. Tides will be high at 9:10am (8.5m) and low at 3:20pm.

Monday

Weather

A moderate force 4 W’ly wind will bring relatively cool air from the Atlantic, feeling very different for the previous days. Skies will be cloudy and possibly misty, through much of the moring but the sun will peek through at times. Then after a spot of rain at lunchtime, we should go into a mostly sunny afternoon. The max temperature will only be 21°C in most parishes but it should feel very comfortable at 22°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

2 foot surf on the west coast and good swimming conditions on the east. Tides will be high at 9:45am (8.5m) and low at 4pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

A couple of much wetter days (4-8mm likely), with a weatherfront either overhead or very nearby throughout. The wind will vary SW’ly and W’ly, sometimes light, sometimes quite strong. So there will be some pleasant moments for sure, but changelable and unreliable are the best descriptors. Max temperatures will be close to 21°C, give or take a couple of degrees, depending on the proximity of that weather front.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish 3-4 foot surf on the west coast. Decent enough swimming conditions on the east and north coasts. Tides will be high in the late mornings (8.5m and 8.3m respectively) and low in the late afternoons.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

It’s very uncertain but the general indication from forecasting models is that we will return to a more sunny and settled situation at the end of the week, with winds falling light and variable as a weak high pressure system moves across the Channel. Dryness is likely but sunshine is less certain. It could be a bit cloudy and misty, mainly in the mornings. Max temps in the mid-twenties.

Surf and the Water

The surf should be nice and clean… 3-4 fett on Thursday, then 2 feet on Friday. Swimming conditions hopefully nice and smoothe on all coasts. Tides will be high around noon (8.1m and 7.8m respectively) and low around dinnertime.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday …
