Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 25 July 2025

Saturday

Weather

Well the weekend previously looked better in the first half but it now looks better in the second, with Saturday being dominated by big clumbs of low cloud, which may even produce a little drizzle from time to time. The force 3-4 W’ly breeze will maintain a temperature that’s close to that of the surrounding sea, so most places will only peak at 20°C but Town will probably climb to 21°C. The odd slither of sunshine will probably slip through, so sheltered beaches like Fermain, will still be lovely for a day out. Likewise there will be some cosy nooks up north, such as Pembroke, and down south, such as Saints Bay.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be slightly choppy but improving in size… 1-2 feet in the morning, then 3-4 feet by evening. Swimming conditions will be best on the east coast but not too bad on the others. High tide will be around 8:40am and 8:50pm (8.9m and 9.3m respectively). Low tide will be around 3pm.

Sunday

Weather

With showers now looking highly unlikely, and skies revealing much more sunshine than on Saturday, we should see an extra degree of heat, peaking around 21-22°C, depending on your precise location The breeze will be a force 3-4 NW’ly on this occasion, so the whole of the south coast will feel just as warm as the east. The overnight minimum being 15-16°C (same as the previous night).

Surf and the Water

The surf will be slightly choppy again but maintaining a decent size… 3-4 feet. Swimming conditions will be best on the south and east coasts. High tide will be around 9:20am and 9:30pm (9m and 9.2m respectively). Low tide will be around 3:30pm.

Next Week

Weather

There isn’t going to be a great deal of change to the general trend, because a high pressure system is locked over the Atlantic, putting us in a generally WNW’ly airflow and thus not allowing much deveiation from sea-surface temperatures (roughly 18.5°C). Thus with days being about double the length of the nights, we can expect temperatures to warm each day by about double the amount that they cool each night, so maxima of 22-23°C seem likely, alongside minima of about 16°C overnight. Weather-wise, there’s the chance of a light shower or two on Monday Tuesday, and then a greater likelihood of heavier showers on Friday. Otherwise, it will be mixed cloud and sunshine, probably with a greater emphasis on sunshine.

Surf and the Water

The may still be some 3 foot waves on Monday, but it looks as though 1-2 feet is the best we can hope for on subsequent days. Swimming conditions should be reasonably good on all coasts due to the lightness of the wind, but the sheltered east and south coasts will always have the edge. High water will be around 10am on Monday, shuffling forward daily, until it’s around midday on Friday. As for the lows, they will be in the late afternoons Monay to Wednesday and then around dinnertime Thursday and Friday.

The next forecast update will be on Sunday or Monday…
