Tuesday
Weather
A cloudy morning, with a spell of rain sometime between 11am and 3pm (precise timing uncertain). The rest of the day should brighten up though, with the force 3-4 wind veering from a WSW’ly to a WNW’ly and therefore favouring the south coast and east coast beaches for a bit of playtime and picnicing. Temperatures following the same pattern as most days of late, starting off around 15°C then peaking around 21°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be slightly choppy but a nice rideable size in the morning… 2-3 feet. Swimming conditions will be best on the east coast but not too bad on the others. High tide will be 8.6m at 10:30am. Low tide will be around 4:40pm.
Wednesday
Weather
A little cloudy around lunchtime, but generally a sunnier day than Tuesday, with a slightly gentler NE’ly wind. It won’t feel hgely different but this ought to make it just a tad warmer, starting off around 16°C and then peaking at 22°C. Once again, the southern and eastern spots will be the most sheltered and comfortable.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be slightly choppy but a rideable size in the morning… 1-2 feet. Swimming conditions will be best on the south and east coasts. High tide will be 8.2m at 11am. Low tide will be around 5:10pm.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
Thursday morning looks cloudy with occasional rain, but then it’s looking dry and partly sunny through the afternoon and then the whole of Friday. The timings of these minor differences are not especially certain, but the general story is a solid one… light to moderate NW’ly breezes and decidedly average temperatures (daily maxima of around 21°C).
Surf and the Water
The surf will remain around 2 feet and rather choppy, whilst swimming conditions remain best on the south and east coasts. High tide will be around 11:30am on Thursday and midday on Friday (7.8m and 7.3m respectively). Low tide will be at dinner time.
The Weekend
Weather
It’s a subtle change on Saturday… the wind swinging to a force 4 N’ly, probably bringing us the sunniest day of the week but not the warmest. Sunday’s weather is set to be quite a contrast though, with the wind changing to a force 5 SW’ly, likely bringing us the cloudiest day of the week. Rainfall is uncertain on Sunday… we could be in for a bit of a downpour towards the end of the day, but there’s a chance that it will hold off until Monday. Despite the big difference in sky colour (blue one day, grey the next), the max temperatures will be roughly the same both days… 20-21°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be about 1 foot and choppy, making it completely forgettable. South-coast swimming conditions should be lovely though. High tide will be at lunchtime (6.9m Saturday and 6.6m on Sunday). Low tide will be at breakfast time and in the evenings.
The next forecast update will be on Wednesday or Thursday…
