Wednesday
Weather
Mostly sunny, just a little cloudy at times. The especially gorgeous thing about this day will be the stillness of the air, allowing it to feel really warm, even though the temperature will not be especially lofty, only peaking at 22-23°C.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 3-4 foot surf on the west coast. One of the best days for a while. Swimming and paddle-boarding conditions will be gorgeous on all coasts... again, one of the best days for a long time. Low water will be at 11:20am, then high wil be just 7.4m at 5:30pm.
Thursday
Weather
This day was looking really toasty, when we expected the wind to come from the south. However, a subtle shift in the high pressure system has left us with a WSW’ly. That breeze will still be very light and the weather mostly sunny, so yes it will be gorgeous, but the temperature only about a degree higher than the previous day… therefore peaking at 23-24°C. Some thundery showers are likely over Normandy in the evening, and we may see a few spits and spots from that. Most likely however, for us, it will just be a cloudy and rather muggy end to the day.
Surf and the Water
The surf will remain beautifully clean, but it will only be 2 feet at best… still great for longboards and SUPs. Swimming conditions once again lovely in all areas. Slightly bigger tidal movements, with highs of 7.5m at 6am and 8m at 6:20pm. Low water will be at a quarter past midday.
Friday and The Weekend
Weather
Friday might start off a little misty and murky, but the breeze should soon veer NW’ly and chase it all away, leaving us with the gradual clearance of cloud on Friday, followed by a super sunny weekend. Temperatures will depend on wind direction, so we currently expect it to go from pleasantly warm on Friday and Saturday (22°C and 23°C) to very warm/hot on Sunday (potentially as high as 25-26°C). This is because Friday will be a force 3 NW’ly, Saturday a similarly gentle N’ly and the Sunday (probably still light force 3) a continental E’ly.
Surf and the Water
The surf will most likely be 2-3 feet throughout, and only a little bit choppy. The will be onshore for the west coast, but generally only light force 3. Swimming will generally be best on the south and east coasts. High tides will be at breakfast time and in the evenings (increasing form 8m on Friday morning to 9.1m on Sunday evening). Low tides will be in the early afternoons
Next Week
Weather
High pressure will be centred over the Atlantic, and the clockwise flow will put a N’ly or NE’ly flow over us for the majority of the week. The air will sunny and be inherently warm but it will be compromised by the temperature of the sea around us. The breeze will be mostly moderate force 4, but if we are blessed with any calmer days then they should allow temperature to climb a little higher. Most likely daily maxima will be 22-24°C. But sneaking into the high twenties can’t be entirely ruled out.
Surf and the Water
The surf will probably hold around 1-2 feet but the quality will all depend on the strength of the wind. A NE’ly is a pretty awful direction when there is any strength to it. Unfortunately, it looks as though it will often be about moderate force 4, which is too strong really. The odd force 2 moment will allow for some loveliness though (timing completely uncertain at the moment). Swimming conditions will be best at Petit Port and Joannet Bay, but there will also be a few smooth corners at the northern ends of some west-coast bays, such as Grande Roque. And L’Eree. Spring tides, with high in the mornings and late evenings. Lows in the afternoons.
The next forecast update will be on Saturday evening…
