Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 15 September 2025

Tuesday

Weather

Probably a tad cloudier than Monday, but fewer (if any) showers and much lighter W’ly winds… moderate force 4 from dawn until late afternoon, then light force 3 as we go into he evening. Temperatures will be a balance of these elements, all resulting in the same 18°C max as on Monday, but feel much more comfortable due to the relaxation of the wind.

Surf and the Water

Solid 6 foot surf to start the day, getting smaller (4-5 feet) but also much cleaner towards the end of the day. For swimming the east coast will be the smoothest area throughout, and with small high tides and lighter widns, this includes the more northeastern areas like Bordeaux as well as the usual secluded southeastern spots. Low water will be at 8:15am. High water will be 6.8m at 2:40pm.

Wednesday

Weather

Grey sky throughout, as a very weak weather front lurks over the north of the Channel, so weak that we will probably remaind dry. It will be quite windy… a fresh force 5 SW’ly, occasionally backing SSW’ly. But atleast this will be bringing mild air to the Islands, allowing us to easily reach 19°C, even with the absence of sunshine.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish surf, but very small compared to the previous day… only 2-3 feet at dawn, dropping off to 1-2 feet the afternoon. Stronger winds will be to the delight of windurfers and kitesurfers though. Shelter-seekers (swimmers) will do best at Fermain through most of the day, but also in the southern or western corners of the bays along the west and north coasts. Low water will be at 10:15am. High water will be 7.2m at 4:20pm.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

A mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, but force 2 to 4 S’ly breezes will bring lovely warm air to the Islands with the likely maxima being 21°C both days. There could be some Thundery showers on Friday night, but the chances are still quite low, due to the usual uncertainty of whether they will pass to the nearby east or west. Apart from that, it’s looking dry and delightfully settled compared to the rest of the month thus far.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish surf both days, roughly 4-5 feet on Thursday and 2-3 feet on Friday. Swimming conditions will be lovely on all coasts too. Low water will be at 11:20am and 12:10pm respectively. High water will be around dinnertime

The Weekend

Weather

A bit of a dismal downturn in the forecast I'm afraid. Saturday morning feeling lovely and warm, as it hangs on to the same air that made Friday so lovely. Rain at lunchtime will cut the day in half though, leaving us with a cooler and much windier afternoon, a moderate force 4 SW'ly veering to a fresh force 5 W'ly. We will then have heavy showers coming and going through the night and through the majority of Sunday too. The winds light and variable on Sunday morning, but then a fresh and very chilly NNE'ly in the afternoon. The max temps will be 19°C and 17°C respectively, both achieved in the morning, so if you have outdoor plans it might be a good idea to go to bed early and then rise with the lark.

Surf and the Water

The surf is likely to be 2 feet and clean both mornings, then a right old mess in the afternoons. Windsurfing and kitesurfing could be good during those choppy episodes though. As the moon wanes to newness (Sunday evening), the tidal range will be large again, with lows around lunchtime and highs around dawn and dinnertime, increasing from 8.6m on Saturday morning to 9.3m on Sunday evening.

The next forecast update will be on Thursday…
