Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 26 September 2025

Friday

Weather

Cloudier than previous days, but also pretty windless. The net result is that the actual temperature will be no higher than previous days (15-16°C for the max), but the feels like temperature will definitely be a better, due to the lack of wind-chill. Visibility has been outstanding of late, and that situation will be maintained, making walks and sea-swims absolutely beautiful under the bubbly silver cloud-sheet. But will that cloud yield any showers?.. well it’s not out of the question but they will be few and far between, so most parishes will probably stay dry. Overnight, the cloud will break up and allow temperatures to fall to a rather chilly min on 10-11°C.

Surf and the Water

Excellent swimming conditions on all coasts. As for the surf, maybe some 1 foot peelers in the morning if we are lucky, then more likely some 2 footers in the evening. Tides will be 8.5m high at 9:40am and then low around 4pm.

The Weekend

Weather

Maybe some blue sky in the morning, but we will be looking at an increasingly cloudy Saturday, as a weather front lingers in the mouth of the Channel, trying to push against the high pressure system that has been anchored over Britain and the North Sea for most of the week. Eventually, probably around breakfast time on Sunday, that weather front will drop some of it’s rainfall across the Channel Islands before continuing into Normandy. The front will be very weak and fragmented by then though, so cloud will be plenty but the rainfall totals will be minimal (probably less than 1mm, which will barely be enough to form puddles). Sunday afternoon should then be sunny, with the wind switching to a light force 3 NW’ly, having been a moderate force 4 S’ly through most of Saturday and early Sunday morning. Max temps will probably be 17°C both days, but Sunday afternoon will likely feel the nicest, especially in Town.

Surf and the Water

Ex hurricane Gabrielle is still expected to take a much more southern track, pummel Portugal and Galicia with swell, leaving the English Channel, with no more than 2-3 feet. Not what we were hoping for, but nice and clean so definitely better than nothing. Tides will be 8.2m high at 10am Saturday, then 7.4m at 10:30am Sunday. Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

Next Week

Weather

High pressure will take charge of our weasther again, giving us a very light N’ly airflow Monday to Wednesday (sunshine aplenty), then a gentle ENE’ly on Wedneday and a moderate S’ly through Thursday and Friday. Skies will probably remain sunny on Wednesday but become increasingly cloudy through Thursday and Friday. It’s far too early to give any certainty about Friday’s forecast, but it’s fair to say that this is the only day with any chance of rain. Temperatures for next week should generally be a tad higher than we have had this past week. I doubt that we will ever reach 20°C, but 18-19°C is quite achievable, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be clean throughout, probably ranging between 1 foot at the smallest and 4 feet at the biggest (most likely on Wednesday). Pleanty of good swimming conditions all around the Island. High tide will be at 11am on Monday, then edge forward each day until it’s at 4:40pm on Friday (all very small, ranging between 6.4m and 7.4m).

The next forecast update will be on Monday…
