Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 22 October 2025

Thursday

Weather

After a very very wet and windy night, there will only be a very gradual improvement. The heaviest and most prolonged showers will be around dawn, then as the day carries on they will become shorter sharper and with greater gaps in between. The sun will peep through, but with a strong force 6-7 NW’ly wind in the morning, and a force 5-6 WNW’ly in the afternoon, it’s really not going to feel too toasty. Actual max… 13-14°C, feels-like max 8-9°C. During the night time, the showers will keep coming and going and the wind will stay at the top end of fresh force 5, leading to a min temp of about 11°C.

Surf and the Water

Crazy messy west-coast surf, but there will probably be some clean and fairly decent waves down south at times. The most hardcore windsurfers will probably have some fun in the afternoon. The morning however might even be too gusty for them. Tides will be about 9.3m high at 8:15am and about 9.1m at 8:30pm. Low tide will be around 2:30pm.

Friday

Weather

On this occasion the wind will be coming straight from the west, force 5 in the morning, force 6 in the afternoon and still very gusty with the showers that will keep marching through, just like on Thursday. Temperatures just as stingy as on Thursday. Despite plenty of sunny spells 13-14°C will be as high as the mercury can climb and the feels-like temp will always be a lot lower. Town will be one of the most sheltered areas, and one of the best things about Town is that it’s full of shops that you can run into when the showers hunt you down. And it’s going to be another rattly night I’m afraid, so the same min temp of roughly 11°C can be expeccted.

Surf and the Water

The west coast surf will still be very messy (probably about 8 feet). Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions should be excellent though. Swimmers will find suitable shelter around Fermain. Tides will be about 9m high at 8:45am and about 8.8m at 9pm. Low tide will be around 3pm.

The Weekend

Weather

Force 4-5 NW’ly winds will bring sunshine and showers on Saturday… heavily tipped in favour of the sunshine. Sunday will have virtually no difference in wind but it will have cloudier skies than Saturday. As for Sunday’s showers, they will be lighter but more frequent than Saturday’s. Max temps around 13-14°C both days. Min temps around 10°C both nights.

Surf and the Water

Very messy west-caost surf (5-6 feet on Saturday, 4 feet on Sunday). There’s a slight chance of finding something clean and rideable down south on Saturday. Swimming conditions will generally be best out east, but they could be good down south on Saturday as well. Tides will be high around breakfast time (don’t forget there’s a clock change on Saturday night). Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.

Next Week

Weather

It’s looking like a week of two halves, the first half being mostly dry and pretty relaxed in the wind department. That wind being a force 4-5 W’ly on Monday, gradually backing to a force 3-4 SE’ly by Wednesday. This should gradually import milder air than over the weekend, so we should hopefully see max temps of 14°C, 15°C and 16°C respectively. Moving into Thursday and Friday, it’s looking quite similar to this week, with heavy showers and winds of force 6 or perhaps 7. The big difference however, is that the wind direction will be S’ly, so it will bring some proper mild air to the Channel, with likely max temps of 17°C (perhaps even higher).

Surf and the Water

The tidal range will be medium in size at the start of the week and then tiny by the end. As for the surf, it will be biggish and messy on Monday, then quite small but much cleaner on Tuesday and Wednesday, then bigger again and fabulously clean on Thursday and Friday, making that latter part of the week potentially classic.

The next forecast update will be on Friday evening or Saturday morning…
