Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 08 November 2025

Saturday

Weather

The bubbly clouds will have their silver moonlit edges replaces by rose gold at dawn, and that will set the tone for the rest of the day, with light force 2 to 3 WNW’ly breezes expected to bring super-sunny skies and a max temp of 14-15°C in most areas but 15-16°C in Town. Overnight, the wind will initially be light and clear skies will lead to a chilly evening (min temps 9-10°C), but then a force 3-4 SSW’ly breeze will bring milder air by dawn, returning temperatures to about 13°C.

Surf and the Water

A big swell will arrive at some point, the first pulses being very long period waves, with large surge potential, probably sucking the bottoms out of the various reef-break waves and providing some excitement for experts. Winds will be onshore but falling lighter and lighter, so this will make for a morning of mushy conditions at Vazon… 2-3 feet increasing to 4-5 feet by midday, then cleaner and certainly more powerful 6 foot waves towards dusk, if the tide permits. Swimming conditions will be best on the east coast, and pretty good along the south coast too. Tides will be high at 8am and 8:30pm (9.6m and 9.2m respectively). Low tide will be at 2:30pm.

Sunday

Weather

The SSW’ly wind will increase from force 3-4 at dawn to fresh force 5 by dusk, high cloud thickening all the while, gradually turning the sunshine from hazy to almost nil. The rain will probably hold off until 7 or 8pm though, and from that time onward we can expect some pretty heavy showers… a rumble of thunder not being entirely out of the question. Daytime max temp 14-15°C, overnight min 13-14°C, so barely feeling any different when outdoors, unless of course you become soaking wet.

Surf and the Water

The west-coast surf will be clean and powerful, mostly 5-6 feet but with some 8 foot sneaker sets. The north coast should host some smaller waves for beginners and intermediates too. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will keep improving as the day progresses. Swimmers should probably stick to Pembroke or Fermain, and would be best advised to pounce on the earl morning session. Tides will be high at 8:45am and 9:1pm (9.2m and 8.6m respectively). Low tide will be around 3:10pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Monday’s wind will change from a force 4-5 SSW’ly to a moderate force 4 WSW’ly, as the cloud and heavy showers are replaced (probably early afternoon) by sunshine and clarity. Overnight, the wind will back to a S’ly direction and a veil of high cloud will spread over the Channel, leaving us with a Tuesday of hazy sunshine but ever strengthening winds… force 4-5 around dawn, strong force 6-7 by late evening. Temperatures will peak at 13-14°C on Monday, then around 15°C on Tuesday.

Surf and the Water

The whopping 6-8 foot surf will continue. Tuesday’s wind direction making for much cleaner conditions on the west coast, but Monday’s being perfectly useful for the smaller north-coast waves. The strength of the wind will be difficult for surfers to manage on Tuesday, but obviously it will be far more exciting for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Tides will be high at 9:30am Monday and 10:20am Tuesday (8m and 7.5m respectively). Low tides will be in the late afternoons.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

SSE’ly winds will vary between moderate force 4 at their gentlest moments and strong force 6-7 at their feistiest (which will probably be on Wednesday). This will bring very mild air throughout the period. Saharan dust in the high atmosphere will no doubt colour the sunsets and sunrises, although the inbetween hours will likely be quite dull and overcast, because the medium to high level cloud will be quite thick. Showers will be few and far between, but they could be heavy and thundery, and they will leave dirty marks on your cars and windows. Max temps probably 16°C each day, but maybe as high as 17°C on Thursday and Friday, which might possibly be record breaking for so late in the year. Nightly min temps, probably no lower than 13-14°C , as dictated by the current sea temp.

Surf and the Water

Smallish tides with highs around lunchtime. This, along with the consistently clean surf conditions, will make for some super-fun sessions. West-coast waves will likely be 4-5 feet on Wednesday, 2-4 feet on Thursday and just 1-2 feet on Friday. Swimming conditions will be best at L’ancresse, always aiming for when the tide is highest.

The next forecast update will be on Monday…
