Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 26 December 2025

Saturday

Weather

After a somewhat disappointingly cloudy Boxing Day, it looks as though Saturday should make up for it with a little bit of sunshine in the morning and then a huge dollop of sunshine in the afternoon. However, whilst the sunshine is more plentiful, the ENE’ly wind will also be stronger, increasing from moderate force 4 to fresh force 5. This wind won’t be all bad though, because it will actually import an area of warmer air that currently lies to the east of us, allowing temperatures to reach 10°C for the max… the first double-figure temperature since Tuesday. Then, during the night time (starry before midnight, but cloudy after), the temperatures will fall to a minimum of 5°C.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf but reasonably good conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, especially as it’s a bit milder than of late. Swimmers will find the nicest conditions at the north ends of the west-coast bays in the morning, or at the east ends of the south-coast bays in the afternoon. High water will be about 7.7m at 11am. Low water will be at 5:30pm.

Sunday

Weather

A cloudy day, but with the ENE’ly wind reducing from fresh force 5 to moderate force 4 E’ly, and continuing to import slightly milder air. This should all balance out to achieve the same max and min temperatures as on Saturday.

Surf and the Water

Another flat-surf day, but with some half-decent windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions (at least in the morning). High water will be bang on midday (7.5m). Low water will be roughly two hours pre-dawn and post-dusk.

Monday

Weather

Cloud forecasting is always tricky when there is no real wind-change. We are basically looking at subtle moisture changes in the air that circulates the high-perssure system. Current estimations are for a cloudy morning and a sunny afternoon but, when the time comes, it could easily prove to be the other way around. Either way, it’s looking dry, with the wind reducing very pleasantly to light force 3, and the temperature likely peaking at 10°C again.

Surf and the Water

Probably (not definitely) some 1-2 foot surf on the west coast. Small but very long period swell, meaning that the lulls will be very long but the sets will have a decent amount of push in them, and probably break much better on the reefs than on the sand. Low water will be at 7am and high water around 1pm (7.4m).

The Rest of Next Week

Weather

Winds will change from the same old E’ly on Tuesday to a light N’ly through the rest of the week. That E’ly on Tuesday will lead to a line of showers developing where the air converges mid-Channel. There’s a slim chance that they will give Guernsey a few wettings but it’s much more likely that those showers will pass by to the north of us. As for the rest of the week… dry and partially sunny, with max temperatures likely increasing by half a degree per day.

Surf and the Water

Four more days of small but very long period swell, coming all the way from the Labrador Sea. Winds will change from the same old E’ly on Tuesday to a light N’ly through the rest of the week, so the waves should be fairly clean for the west-coast surfers, and the water should become super-smooth for the south-coast swimmers. Tides will be low in the mornings and high in the mid-afternoon on Tuesday progressing to the early evening by Friday.

The next forecast update will most likely be on Monday morning…
